What We Do Not Allow
The following behaviors will result in suspension or permanent ban:
Harassment & Bullying
- Targeted insults, threats, or intimidation
- Racial, ethnic, religious, or gender-based slurs
- Body-shaming or hurtful comments about appearance
- Stalking or obsessive behavior
Inappropriate Content
- Sexually explicit material or nudity
- Pornographic or adult-oriented content
- Graphic violence or disturbing imagery
- Drug use or promotion of illegal activities
Impersonation & Fraud
- Pretending to be someone else
- Scamming, phishing, or attempting to steal personal information
- Fake profiles or misleading representations
- Requesting money or financial favors
Platform Disruption
- Using bots, scripts, or automated tools
- Spamming or repeatedly sending the same messages
- Attempting to hack, damage, or overload the service
- Recording or screenshotting without consent
Content That Violates Our Guidelines
Avoid discussing or sharing:
- Hate speech or discriminatory content
- Politically extremist material
- Self-harm or suicide promotion
- Underage users (our service is for 18+)
- Private personal information of others (doxxing)
Enforcement Actions
When users violate these guidelines:
- First offense: Warning or temporary suspension (duration depends on severity)
- Repeat offenses: Longer suspensions or permanent ban
- Severe violations: Immediate permanent ban without warning
All enforcement decisions are at the discretion of our moderation team. You may appeal a ban by contacting us through the Contact page.
Appealing a Ban
If you believe your account was banned in error:
- Submit a polite appeal through the Contact page
- Include your username and a clear explanation
- Do not create new accounts while appealing
- Understand that bans for serious violations (harassment, explicit content) are rarely overturned
Your Responsibility
By using Berlin Chat, you are responsible for your own conduct and the content you share. Ignorance of these guidelines is not an excuse for violations. Familiarize yourself with these rules and help us maintain a positive community.
Reporting Violations
If you witness guideline violations:
- Use the in-chat "Report" button immediately
- Provide a brief description of what happened
- Our team reviews reports within 24-48 hours
- Do not engage with the offending user—just report and disconnect
